ASHANTI PUSHES BACK 'BRAVEHEART' ALBUM ON THE DAY OF ITS' RELEASE

Ashanti! Ashanti! Ashanti! Your future as a member of Love & Hip-Hop is looking brighter than ever.

No less than a month ago it was reported that Ms. Douglas was putting the finishing touches on her serially delayed album Braveheart, a project fans were expecting to get their hands on yesterday, July 30.

Well unfortunately that won't be happening any time soon. In a stunning change of events, the independent artist released a statement announcing the albums pushback viaInstagram:
"Hey y'all! So Braveheart is NOT coming out today we have clearances & legalities to take of... It costs to be the boss!!! This CEO sh#t is Not A Game! Lol looking like September."
It is clear that Ashanti has no idea how to run a label, and with her career having flat lined years ago, maybe she should reconsider signing to one of those seven labels who were interested in her prior to this "independent" mess. None of the singles released from the LP have garnered any attention despite her appearing on several promotional platforms in the form of different media.

Fans of the former "Princess of Hip-Hop and R&B" took to her Instagram to voice their grievances:

ayooitszjonathan Bitch bye fuck were you doing all these time? And why didn't you push it back before the release day? Why because you know you will flop ugh >:{
She performed "The Woman You Love" on Good Morning America, and the single still failed to do much of anything, just as its followup singles "No One Greater" and the R. Kelly assisted "That's What We Do".

With "Never Should Have," the album had seemed to be finally going in the right direction with the ballad receiving an increase in sales after Ashanti's reoccurring role on A&E's Army Wives gained her a new fanbase, but again it failed to propel the single into the Hot 100.

It's sad to say, but September will roll around and this album will still be an urban myth. I'm sure Ashanti thought it was smart forgoing a major label deal, and avoiding the dreaded "360 contract," but at this point she's in the same boat as Lil Kim, all talk and zero action.

I will continue to state that if she had released "She Can't Like Mine," with a sick music video, instead of "The Woman You Love," she would have been back on the map instantly. I miss the days of Ashanti ruling Billboard, and with her having made serious vocal improvements since her debut, there is no reason why she isn't poppin'.
