It goes without saying that former R&B heavyweight, Ashanti's Braveheart era-has been one of the most misguided efforts of her entire career.
Within the last two years the 32 year-old has released five singles from the serially delayed project, accompanied by two music videos for tracks "The Woman You Love" and "Never Should Have." For an artist whose name was once synonymous with popular acts such as Beyonce and Rihanna, the current state of Ashanti's music career is disheartening.
Seeing that the genres of R&B and Hip-Hop were the only ones to see an increase of digital sales last year, the revival of what some consider to be a "dead" genre may be what the actress/songwriter needs to get this album off the ground.
With the New Year, comes renewed energy and spirit, and the R&B vixen spreads the message with some stunning new promo images and album artwork!
Shanti looks absolutely flawless on the new album cover, as she stands in front of a blooming rose, wearing a sexy knit black top. She unveiled the artwork via Instagram along with three more promo photos, shot by Robert Ector.
After several delays, the follow-up to 2008’s The Declaration is set to arrive on February 18 via her own Written Entertainment/eOne Music. This past November, Ashanti released the Rick Ross-assisted single “I Got It” and has recorded a new song with Beenie Man called “First Real Love.”
