CIARA BLAST BLOGGERS AND HATERS IN OPEN LETTER, "PEOPLE SEEM SO MISERABLE"

Ciara is leaving the negativity behind in 2013. The “Body Party” singer has penned an open letter on her website, in which she denounces blogs and social media for tearing down others.

Whether it's in regards to her career, her relationship with rapper Future, Ciara is once again ready to shut them up.

In the letter, entitled “What Is Social Media Coming To?” she admits to visiting blogs, but has become increasingly disturbed by their slanderous stories.

“But nowadays it seems like there’s a competition with sites on ‘Who Can Tear Someone Down the Most,’” she writes. “The stories are going from cool and creative to pure drama. Even the comment sections are beginning to get out of control and people are using the platforms to exercise a false sense of power.”

Additionally, she has noticed the same behavior on Instagram, where positive posts spawn negative comments.

“I think to myself, ‘I could pick this person apart so bad but what for? Why act ugly like them?’ says CiCi. “It honestly takes the fun out of it when people seem so miserable.”

She questions why people spend their time ripping others apart when they could focus on something positive, but she believes that the negative bloggers will get what they deserve.

“It’s never worth it in the end when you sell your soul for a quick dollar, by creating bad stories about people,” says CiCi. “At some point, it will all reverse on you and you’ll end up regretting all the trash you wrote or said about people.”

Moving forward, she has decided to stop visiting blogs. “Now, Off Blogs. Peaceful Mind. Living In My Happiness. Creativity Only.”

I have to agree with Ciara as many of the mainstream blogs such as ThatGrapeJuice, Bossip, and even Nicole Bitchie have become more drama than informative, turning into virtual tabloids. It's not even the journalism itself, but more so the comments that turn into ridiculous and immature "stan wars," and attacks against people they don't even know--celebrity and non-celeb.

When I created SchoneSeelen my goal was to present the facts, leaving out negativity and allowing commentators to arrive at their own opinions. That doesn't mean that my opinions are not expressed throughout this blog, but not to the extent of PerezHilton or MediaTakeOut.

At times I've thought that maybe I should be more vocal or as they say "read" the people involved in the hot-topics of the week. But on my day-to-day life, I'm simply not that person. I don't gossip. I don't entertain it and for the most part I try to live a life free of negativity, and for the most part have been successful.

Opinions should be based on facts, and not on one's personal perception of another person. On the flip-side, we all need to be able to recognize the difference between an opinion based on fact, and one based on gossip. If it's based on fact...own responsibility and take the necessary steps to either defend, deflect, ignore or change.
