So who is Alus? She's a singer, songwriter, musician, and all around entertainer straight out New Jersey who has her own definition of her name. "[It] means freedom to me. Freedom to express myself as an artist."
When describing her musical styling she refers to it as“vintage pop," and names Mariah Carey as one her favorite singers of all time.
Most recently the future Billboard beauty released Alustrious, her debut EP. Hosted by DJ Epps, the eight-track project features both original material and covers, including a rendition of Coldplay's "Atlas", which was included on the soundtrack for the recent film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Alus considers Aaliyah, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson major influences, her lyrics focussing predominantly on love and sensuality. She's described Alustrious as "a lot of relatable music for everyone... fun, sexy, and just feel good music". It was preceded by the singles "Relapse,""My Baby, My Love," and most recently "Extraorinary."
