Fan favorite urban gay porn star Arquez joined the [Reali-TEA] table as a guest co-host and joined the show's discussion on a variety of topics, such as the George Zimmerman trial, Chris Brown's probation violation, Stevie Wonder's boycott of the state of Florida and much more.
Arquez's appearance on Reali-TEA was his first public appearance since his recent incarceration. So, co-hosts Dominique Morgan, Spacc Attack, Dame Day and new co-host Carl Anthony got the chance to ask him a bunch of questions about everything the blogosphere was reporting about his recent experiences and the future. Arquez discussed his recent arrest, his experience behind bars (Did the inmates recognize him? Did he have sex behind bars?), his scenes with Red and Python, his website, The Arquez Academy and his future in the gay adult industry (including his upcoming scene with popular urban gay porn star Jovonnie).
It was this comment from Arquez -- "I'm not shooting anymore" -- that gave Reali-TEA moderator Dominique Morgan pause. So he followed it up with this question...
Dominique Morgan: "So this is an exclusive for our show right? That you're announcing your retirement from shooting porn yourself?"
Arquez:"Yes. I am no longer shooting any more porn. Of course there's some more porn that hasn't been released so there's still some more scenes that'll come out... that'll take up until the end of this year. But as far as me being in any new porn, I am done with that."
Arquez goes on to say...
Arquez: "The point of me giving this up, or stop doing porn, is because I feel that in the years that I've done it, I've actually accomplished a lot. And I don't really see a lot of my money from porn... It's like one of those things where like, I'm in a relationship. And I'm happy. He's happy. ... I'm [a] Taurus. So, I'm real headstrong and I like stability. I just like being under one person in other words. I'm not doing any more new porn."
Arquez went on to say that he will still be going appearances and already has several exotic dancing bookings throughout the rest of the year that he will be doing. And there's the possibility of doing more next year. He will always "remember what started all of this." [PAPI CHULO]
Kudos goes out to Arquez for using the industry as a stepping stone to start his own brand, and increase his stock. So many performers enter the porn world without a plan, and end up being stuck performing for low budget studios, escorting, and resorting to committing crimes just to survive.
Porn is like reality television, get in, use it to your advantage and get out.
