Ashanti is really feeling the Christmas spirit this year. Not only did she star in Christmas in the City, a made-for-TV movie that premiered on Lifetime on Dec. 7, but the singer and actress has also just released a new Christmas EP.

Entitled A Wonderful Christmas with Ashanti, the five-track EP features classics like "Sleigh Ride" and ‘"Let It Snow." All of the songs from the EP are featured in the Lifetime movie.

The songstress isn’t new to the holiday music game. Ashanti’s first Christmas album, Ashanti’s Christmas, was released in 2003.

Aside from Christmas cheer, Ashanti is promoting her current single, "I Got It" featuring Rick Ross. The song will appear on her serially delayed LP, BraveHeart, which is set for a 2014 release.

If you want to add a new set of holiday songs to your playlist this month, you can get A Wonderful Christmas with Ashanti on iTunes now.

In an unprecedented move, Beyonce quietly released her fifth studio album to iTunes on Friday.

“Surprise!” tweeted Bey moments after the midnight launch.

The visual album, simply titled BEYONCE, features 14 songs and 17 videos, with contributions from Jay Z, Blue Ivy, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell, Drake, The-Dream, Sia, Ryan Tedder, Miguel, Frank Ocean, Hit-Boy, Ammo, Boots, and Detail. The album follows the same path as her 2006 release B'Day, offering an eclectic mix of genres for her Bey Hive.

“I see music,” said Beyonce about her decision to create a visual album. “It’s more than just what I hear. When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. And they’re all connected to the music.”

The videos were shot throughout the world in New York, Paris, Sydney, and Rio de Janeiro during her worldwide “Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.”

“I didn’t want to release my music the way I’ve done it,” explained Bey. “I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There’s so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn’t want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans.”

The surprise release was a strategic move done to prevent leaks. Manufacturing of physical copies begins today and the double disc CD/DVD will be available in stores in time for the holidays.

She started recording the album a year-and-a-half ago. The initial process began in the summer of 2012 after the writers and producers gathered under one roof in The Hamptons to live together, work together, and immerse themselves in Bey’s world.

She has also premiered the first part of Self-Titled, a mini documentary feature that offers a glimpse into the entire project. It details her mind-set and artistic vision throughout the making of BEYONCÉ.

"Yoncé" Like her rap song "Diva," gives the superstar another opportunity to satisfy her hip hop muse and look pretty for the camera as seen in the teaser below:

Finally something exciting in the world of music for 2013!

Head to iTunes to get your copy for $15.99. Individual songs will be available for purchase on December 20. Watch 30-second teasers for all 17 music videos from the album, after the break!

"Grown Woman" (Bonus Video) Beyoncé wins for the magical footage of baby Bey and Kelly Rowland singing the lyrics to this song. The video shows their evolution over the years and settles on modern day Mrs. Carter dancing to the song's Afro-Cuban rhythms.

"Ghost" Beyoncé vents on this moody, electronic track. While she complains about not trusting "these record labels," she quips, "Soul not for sale. Probably won't make no money off this. Oh well. Reap what you sow." In the accompanying video, she's dressed in black -- even blackface in some scenes -- and dances against flickering lights.

"Heaven" The serene tribute to a dearly-departed friend is depicted with a emotional clip of good times shared (tattoos, wedding, hiking) and Beyoncé paying her respects.

"Superpower" feat. Frank Ocean Frank Ocean and Beyoncé sound great together on this strong ballad about unbreakable love. The video revisits the post-apocalyptic theme of "Run the World (Girls)," as the queen and a few pretty cool surprise cameos faceoff with the militaristic regime.

"Flawless" feat. Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche We heard "Flawless" earlier this year. Previously called "Bow Down," it was the first leaked track from "Beyoncé." The chime-ridden melody accompanied by a driving, hefty bass groove set the tone for the star to reprimand her childhood nemeses. The video shows footage of Girls Tyme, an early incarnation of Destiny's Child, competing and losing on the "Star Search" talent competition. After the intro clip, Beyoncé parties in a dilapidated space channeling a scene from "Fight Club." The visual turns slow-motion for a pro-girl PSA from Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche.

"XO" This straight-ahead pop record is Katy Perry-cute with an amusement park-themed video.

"Mine" feat. Drake This begins as another soft, introspective track. Beyoncé's airy vocals address taking things too far as a lyrical dance routine unfolds, but the pace picks up as Drake joins in with a hypnotic, hip hop chant.

"Rocket" It's only fitting that this sensual ode to making love would find inspiration from Prince and D'Angelo. The video sets the mood with 4-and-a-half minutes of Beyoncé's sensual poses.

"Jealous" A vulnerable Beyoncé admits to insecurities in this mid-tempo ballad. In the short, she allows jealously to consume her until she can regain her composure.

"Partition" According to this song, behind the partition in a chauffeured car is a good place for an impromptu rendezvous. Beyoncé is at her raunchiest, dropping a reference to Monica Lewinsky that will surely get noticed on the sexy, smooth hip hop banger. In the video, though, Beyoncé is determined to maintain her man's interest, treating Jay Z to private dances and flashing ample thong-shots for camera.

"No Angel" Beyoncé pays big homage to H-Town (that's Houston, Texas) with this grinding, slow jam featuring in-the-video cameos from the city's finest rappers Bun B, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Z-Ro, Kirko Bangz, Trae that Truth, Chad Jr., and Geto Boys members Scarface, and Willie D.

"Blow" Beyoncé takes it back to the 1970s with this adult-themed, fun and funky roller-skating jam with a video to match.

"Drunk In Love" This booming, southern crunkfest is more outrageous than Rihanna and Chris Brown's sexually explicit "Birthday Cake" collab and Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's naughty motorcycle "Bound 2" video. Beyoncé frolics on the beach as she sings about how liquor gets her in the mood, and Jay Z loves it, describing in (too much?) detail a breakfast make-out session with his wife.

"Haunted" Bey sings with slurred, sultry vocals over a dark, progressive drum and bass track. The lyrics seem to imply a haunting sensual relationship with someone she calls a "ghost in the sheets." Illuminati theorists will love picking this video apart as its theme is based on Beyoncé checking into a hotel occupied by the spirits of dead people.

"Pretty Hurts" In this traditional Beyoncé ballad, she sings about the pressures and insecurities associated with being "pretty." The pageant-theme video shows the beauty contestants behind-the-scenes, fighting, being criticized about their weight, battling anorexia, getting Botox injections, and spray-on tans.

"Blue" feat. Blue Ivy Yes, the song in which she sings "hold onto me Blue" to her daughter is super sweet, as is the video that captures them enjoying the company of the locals in Rio de Janeiro. But the best part comes near the end when the precious toddler says, "Hold onto me," and offers her best pronunciation of Beyoncé.

BEYONCE REVEALS FIRST SINGLES TO BE RELEASED FROM NEW SELF-TITLED ALBUM

Beyonce-BEYONCE-schoneseelen

Whether she is having her Justin Timberlake The 20/20 Experience moment is yet to be seen, but it's clear that her fans have been starving for some new material, and the Queen has delivered.

Beyonce is making her own rules with the unorthodox and unprecedented release of her self-titled fifth studio album. Laced with profanity, sex, feminism, and spirituality--BEYONCE may be the most growth displayed during the singer's entire career as a solo artist. Not only was the public caught off guard by the surprise release, but so were members of her Sony family. Only a dozen or so were informed in advance.

The LP is already being called, "...one of the most X-rated pop albums since the release ofMadonna's Erotica," by Telegraph. The Guardianhas referenced it as, "A brilliantly strange record." While theIdolator has given the album 5/5 stars.

TheSpin's Rob Harvilla stated, "I watched every video last night. Was up until 4. ("Superpower" is the funniest, "Heaven" the heaviest, "XO" the sweetest.) By the time I got to "Partition" I was ready to declare this the single greatest musical thing that has ever happened...I just spent $16 on this outta nowhere, and it's the best $16 I've spent in ages," giving the album a rating of 9/10.

Christopher Weingarten said, "All in all, a smarter attempt at modern #ARTPOP than, say, the last Jay Z album, but no hooks I'm gonna walk away singing (save the Dirty Mind-era Prince minimalist new-wave gem "Blow")," giving the album a rating of 6/10.

The Daily Beast's Kevin Fallon praises BEYONCE, placing it above both Gaga and Britney's releases. "It’s intimate, raw, even X-rated, and cements her status as the most untouchable pop star alive...Beyonce, though, actually achieves the pleasurable experimental aesthetic that Gaga teased and really is the superstar’s most personal ever. Maybe the album actually accomplishes those things when ARTPOP and Britney Jean couldn’t because its unexpected arrival allowed it to debut its songs with no prejudgment. Or maybe it’s simply because it’s better than them."

However he questions whether it's a singles album, "It’s hard not to notice that, for the range of emotions explored in BEYONCE, there’s no big Beyonce hit. It doesn’t have a “Single Ladies,” or a “Crazy in Love.” But it doesn’t need it. Every pop star is under pressure to top themselves. How could Beyonce possibly do that? As it turns out, it’s by showing us herself and all her imperfections. And, of course, executing it flawlessly."

Kitty Empire of The Guardian gave the album 4/5 stars, summing up what the masses have been saying. "The best surprise of all, in an autumn in which Beyonce's closest competitors – Gaga, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus – made underperforming bids for the throne, is how thoroughly assured, immersive and substantial this album is."

The pop icon will release the first two singles to radio next week. So just which ones will they be?

The dream-team from Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience” – JT, Jerome “J-Roc” Harmon, James Fauntleroy and Timbaland--bring on Pharrell as producer and a sexy vocal Bey for the slinky club banger "Blow," that recalls previous “B Day” collabs with Pharrell like “Kitty Kat” and “Green Light.” A personal favorite track of mine for which I'm estatic is receiving the single treatment, boast cunnilingus references from beginning to finish, and will be sent to Top 40 as the album's lead single.

The Jay Z assisted "Drunk in Love," will serve as the duosingle for urban radio, which could very well see itself crossover considering both artist broad fanbase. An ode to raunchy love-making with a dedicated partner, “Drunk in Love” delicately dances around TMI territory with its asides like “grainin’ on that wood” (she’s supposedly talking about a “surfboard.”) But an infectious, wailing of “loooove” on the chorus, a sassy half-rapped second verse from Bey and a memorable rap from Jay (“your breastesses my breakfastesses”) make this a potential smash, being compared to Rihanna and Chris Brown's explicit treat "Birthday Cake."

The infectious "XO," co-written and produced by Ryan Tedder and The Dream is the most Billboard friendly song on BEYONCE, will follow in 2014 as the second single at Top 40. The Terry Richardson-directed video was shot at Coney Island over the summer.

As with every album from the Queen, radio has already begun  playing Bey’s fifth album in its entirety after its iTunes exclusive release on Friday.

Streaming services including Spotify and Rdio will have access to BEYONCE next week and physical copies will arrive in time for the holidays.

The album is already on track to debut at No. 1 with projected sales of over 200,000 in its first three days. To put that number into perspective, her previous studio set 4 sold 310,000 copies in its first week of July 2011.

The album is also No. 1 on iTunes in 75 countries including the U.S., U.K., Australia, France, Russia, Singapore, Spain, and more. There is no doubt that the album will debut at #1 on the Billboard 200, while final first week sales will revealed on Wednesday, December 18.

Gaga, Katy, and Britney ans their fans can officially "Bow Down!!" The previously released buzz song of the same name, released by Beyonce earlier this year, as well as the above image could not have been a better indication of what the future would bring!

It has been revealed that in little over 24 hours after making its debut on iTunes, BEYONCE  sold an astonishing 430,000 copies, 120,000 more than her previous release 4--sold within an entire week.

According to Billboard, the self-titled visual LP has easily moved enough units to secure the No. 1 spot on next week’s Billboard 200.

BEYONCE sold over 80,000 downloads in the first three hours of release and throughout Friday moved another 350,000, putting the total at 430,000.

With two more days left in the sales week, Billboard has predicted that the diva's fifth album could top 600,000. Final numbers will be announced when the chart is revealed on Wednesday, December 18.

Meanwhile, BEYONCE is on track to become the biggest sales week by a female artist since Taylor Swift sold 1.2 million copies of Red in November 2012. In addition, it would give Beyonce the best debut week and best sales week of her entire career. Her 2006 album B’Day opened with 541,000 in September 2006.

Additionally, these are only digital sales. Physical copies are currently in production and are scheduled to arrive in stores on December 23. Meaning the album could very well be considered platinum before the years end.

The 32 year-old has already revealed that "Blow" and  "Drunk in Love" will serve as the first releases from the album. While "XO" will be released afterwards.

All hail the Queen!!

NEW YEAR, NEW YOU, NEW FRIENDS: HOW TO LET GO AND MOVE ON

“Letting go means to come to the realization that some people are a part of your history, but not a part of your destiny.”
― Steve Maraboli

As 2013 comes to a close, many people whom I've come into contact with this year have made my annual "cut-list." People whom I've known for years, some of whom I've known for months, and some I've only come across online--they've served their purpose and it's time to look toward the future filled with new faces and new experiences.

There are many reasons why I let go of people, the main reason being one of self discovery, and becoming more aware of who I am, what I want out of life, the progress I've made and the changes I predict happening in the near future.

When you start to envision your life going in a different direction, many of times you have to reevaluate those surrounding you. Maybe the way they live their lives is no longer aligned with the beliefs and values that have grown to become near and dear to you. I for one am not the most submissive when it comes to change, I hate change, therefore the process of eliminating people out of my life is a real struggle.

It can be hard being left with memories of them, and missing those shared moments, but it's those moments that you must cherish while continuing to move forward--never looking back.

Eliminate drama and negativity--I realized years ago that the more people I allow into my life, the more drama occurs. When you are spending significant amounts of time with someone who is constantly being negative, more than likely their personality trait will rub off on you. It's a known fact that the company you keep do play a role in who you become as a person, and do you really want to be angry, bitter, resentful and messy 24/7.

WHY IT MAY BE TIME TO LET GO

PERSONAL GROWTH--It's a part of life, we mature, we change, and sometimes those around us remain the same.

The conflict doesn't arises in the change itself, but it becomes a problem with the other party doesn't accept and understand the person whom you've grown to become. When this happens, conflict is inevitable.

What was right for you at a certain point in life, may not necessarily be what's right for you in the present. Sometimes the struggle isn't with the other person, but it's within ourselves. It can be hard realizing that you have changed, and have to proceed from point A and navigate your way to Z.

FEAR--This is my biggest Achilles heel because change means uncertainty. However part of letting go and moving on is facing the fears and disappointments of the past that have kept you in unsatisfactory situations. Whether it's a job, relationship or a friendship, you deserve better.

YOU RESIDE IN YOUR PAST-Sometimes we have nothing going on in the present, that we continue to live in the past to stay alive, but this is a huge mistake. If all you do is attempt to relive something that has already happened, you’re missing out on what's going on in the present! The mental space you create by letting go of things that are already behind you gives you the ability to fill the space with something fresh and fun.

GRUDGE THE GRUDGE--Let them go, it isn't worth and allowing someone to affect you for the rest of your life gives them the power. Holding on to the heavy load of anger, resentment and hatred not only binds you, but it also blocks your present blessings and opportunities. Take the lessons you've learned from the situation and move forward with your life.

Knowledge--Living is learning, therefore if you aren't experiencing change, you aren't learning anything.

HOW TO LET GO

ACCEPT AND MOVE ON--In order to let go, you must first be thankful for the experience no mater if it were a positive one or one filled with negativity. Both experiences have helped you grow and brought you to the current state for which you are in. It’s this moment where you being to accept everything you have, the things you once had, and things you will obtain in the future. It’s all about blocking out fear and embracing life’s unpredictable changes. Trust yourself and realize that every experience in life has value.

MOMENT OF CLARITY--Sometimes I just need a moment to gather my thoughts, it's one of the reasons that I've kept a journal since my adolescent years. Often times you need to take several steps back and think on the situation in order to gain some clarity. Once you have momentarily removed yourself from the situation, you will no longer act on impulse, but rather on logic. When your mind is clear, return to the situation with a new set of eyes.

CHANGE ISN'T ALWAYS POSSIBLE--Realize that not everything in life is meant to be changed or understood.  Live, let go, learn what you can and don’t waste energy worrying about the things you can’t change.  So many times people spend years on a friendship or relationship waiting for the other person to change (I've been guilty myself) when in reality that person may never change. Why so, when they see nothing wrong with who they are? Instead, focus your energy on what you can change, and if you can’t change something you don’t like, change the way you think about it or leave it completely!  If you've chosen to leave it, define what you didn't like about the arrangement and make that a starting point for achieving something better.

OWN IT--You are in full control of your life so long as you claim it and own it, therefore don't let anyone rule the kingdom you were blessed with.  We are constantly blaming everyone else, instead of looking within and seeing what role we may have played. We place blame on our parents, our exes, friends, the government, society, etc., but never do we take responsibility. It’s never our fault, right…

Sorry to break the delusional bubble you live within, but it’s always your fault, because if you want change, you are the only person who can make that happen.

FOCUS--I am all about helping others, but after I help myself.  Some people see it as selfish, but if I don't make sure that I am okay-first, how can I be healthy enough to take care of others.

In life you must constantly be on "review." This is a technique I use on a daily basis, one in which I take note of who I am, my current lifestyle, and if I am truly living the life that I want. If you come to the realization that the life you're leading is not the one you want, make changes. Create a plan of action, and make the adjustments until the life you've envisioned begins to take form.

CHANGE YOUR INNER CIRCLE--I cannot express this enough, that the company you keep often can either motivate you and support you, or they can bring you down. Even if you run into someone whose role in life has been one of support, providing you with the strength to move on, maybe that was their deed in life, and it's perfectly okay to let that relationship go. In some instances there are people whom you'll meet who are  supposed to be apart of your memory, and not your destiny.

So how can you tell when it's time to let someone go? When you've reached the point where you've bgun compromising your happiness and the the standards for which you hold yourself as well as those around you accountable to--have diminished, it's time to let people go. You may want to follow Drake's motto of no new friends, but it was those new friends of YMCMB who have catapulted him to the level of success he's at now.

NEW DAY--You can decide right now that negative experiences from your past will not predict your future. Seriously, right now! Before 2014 arrives, figure out what the next level in life is, no matter how small or difficult, take on the challenge.  Now is the time to step out on faith, and realize that this test will not wait forever. Whether you choose to take it or not is up to you, but  your grade of "passing" or "failing" is inevitable. Ultimately, the only thing you can ever really do is to keep moving forward, therefore take the challenge--it's better to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all. Take the jump without hesitation, without looking back. That new job, the possibility of a new relationship, maybe you want to try dating women, move to a new city, or venture out on a search for a new set of friends. Whatever it is, do yourself a favor and forget the past, look straight ahead and sprint toward a better future.

The pop icon whose star power many had questioned after the lukewarm reception of 4, has shattered an iTunes record with her surprise album, which sold a staggering 828,773 copies in its first three days.

According to a press release from Apple, BEYONCE has become the fastest-selling album ever on the iTunes Store worldwide.

The fifth solo project from Beyonce also broke the U.S. first-week album sales record with 617,213 sold and hit No. 1 in 104 countries. It bests the previous one-week iTunes record held by Taylor Swift’s Red, which sold 465,000 copies in October 2012.

If that wasn’t enough, Queen Bey earns the largest sales week of 2013 for a woman.

BEYONCE will easily debut at No. 1 on next week’s Billboard 200 when the chart is released on Wednesday. Sales are tracked Monday through Sunday.

The heavily-guarded album launched on iTunes on Friday featuring 14 new songs and 17 videos. Physical copies are in production and will arrive in time for Christmas.
