This past weekend Beyoncé Knowles-Carter delivered an unbeatable performance that closed out Saturday’s festivities at the Budweiser Made in America Festival. The singer’s act was sultry and powerful, shelling out her usual diva personality and teasing the crowd with her fierceness. She demonstrated a rendition of her current Mrs. Carter World Tour that catered to the festival audience perfectly.
The visuals, costumes and lighting were almost exactly the same with the exception of her recent, and well received hairstyle change. Even though Jay Z was spotted earlier at the festival, the rapper did not make an appearance with his wife – which many were expecting. ALEXANDRA BURKE LOOKS TOWARD FUTURE AFTER BEING DROPPED BY RCA, WITH NEW EP "#NEWRULES" [DOWNLOAD]
Alexandra Burke is looking towards the future, in spite of a dismal past.
Last year the U.K. X-Factor winner released the less than stellar Heartbreak On Hold which boasted a more Eurodance/House sound with "Elephant" and "Let It Go," solidifying it's fate in being one of the years' most under-performing albums. Despite her always stellar live performances in which she integrates Beyonce's method of managing to sing live while leaving her heart and soul on the stage through choreography, fans could not connect with the new sound, and thus her crossover appeal into the U.S. market remained questionable.
Burke began discussing her plans to ditch the Dance sound and venture into the genres of R&B/Soul. "This new album is very different," she told Digital Spy. "I'm listening to Aretha, Gladys Knight, Billie Holiday. I'm being inspired by the greats - particularly those who may have been forgotten by my generation."
It seemed as though her third studio album was given the green light, with her praising her record label for allowing her time to record the LP. " I'm really happy that RCA have let me concentrate on it and spend time writing it rather than rushing another album six months after my last one." However RCA dropped her from their roster months following the interview.
After signing a new management deal with former Def Jam president Kevin Liles, Burke made her U.S. debut live during the Chaka Khan Hall of Fame Tribute concert in New York City, back in June. Performing alongside established acts such as Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, Patti LaBelle, Deborah Cox and Jennifer Holliday--her introduction could not have been any more perfect.
Now Burke is ready to take America and the world by storm with #NewRules. The six-track effort emphasizes the 25 year-old's strong vocals which were down played by her previous Electro/Dance sound. She exudes confidence not only in her voice, but the subject matter of songs such as "Day Dreams,""Fix You," and "Bounty Hunter."

One of the biggest urban pride events of the summer, Inferno Dominican Republic was scheduled to kick off this past Thursday, August 29. It was being hailed as the event of the summer according to their official website.
When some guest arrived in the Dominican Republic a day early on Wednesday, August 28th, to allot time to settle in before the festivities, they found themselves to be stranded at the airport with no transportation. Transportation that was included in the packages sold by the events' organizers.
After being alerted without proper notice by Inferno's founder Will Williams, that Inferno Dominican Republic was cancelled many of the patrons who planned on attending wondered what would become of the situation. Would they receive a refund? How? When? And what events were going on behind the scenes that caused the demise of one of this summers' most anticipated gay pride events?
Earlier this week after releasing his first official statement of apologies. Williams sent out a letter to all patrons, informing them on two refund options.
"All Inferno DR 2013 patrons please check your email accounts for your copy of the following letter detailing the refund options. Agents of Worldwide Travel Partners will also be contacting you via telephone during normal business hours. We are truly sorry for the turn of events and will continue to work diligently until is resolved."Here is what the letter read:
Dear Inferno Dominican Republic 2013 Patron,
Words cannot express out sadness regarding the recent chain of events that precipitated the cancellation of Inferno Dominican Republic 2013. Please know that we worked tirelessly until the last minute to resolve all outstanding matters so that the event could proceed as planned. We were shocked to discover that we would not be able to do so. Since Wednesday, August 28th, we have worked nonstop to resolve the situation. To that extent, our travel agency co-ordinance, Worldwide Travel Partners, has assisted us with providing the two following reimbursement options listed below:
1) Trip Cancellation Refund: As with previous years, we have set aside a portion of your payment to purchase travel insurance on your behalf. This plan covers 100% of Trip Cost for a number of reasons including Trip Cancellation. Reimbursement generally requires 4-6 weeks.
